Day 1

Think about the most beautiful place you’ve ever visited in your life. Maybe it was the mountains, a tropical beach, or a particular city you love. You can try your best to describe the beauty of the sights, smells, and sounds…but nothing compares to actually being there!

The same is true of God’s power and His presence. You can listen to other people talk about it, write about, and sing about it, but at a certain point you have to experience it for it yourself.

Every believer is called to a personal relationship with God. You are meant to pursue Him, to know Him, to call on Him in times of trouble, and to praise Him daily. The goal isn’t to chase the next emotional high. The purpose is to build an intimate relationship with the Lord and simply be with Him.

Like any meaningful relationship, we need to invest time and effort. We are growing every time we pray, gather together to worship, study and meditate on His word, and serve others.

The power of the Holy Spirit makes the word of God come alive and bring change, which we desperately need in our world. Before Jesus ascended into heaven, He told His disciples, “you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth” (Acts 1:8).

God calls us to live beyond ourselves. As followers of Christ, we aren’t guaranteed an easy life, or that everything will always work out the way we ask. But we know that even if we can’t change our circumstances, He will empower to walk through every situation.

The church more than a building, it’s a body of believers, and this is why the church will continue to flourish whatever the circumstances may be about gathering. We aren’t called to simply attend and be spectators in the stands. It’s time to activate our faith and pursue our personal relationship with God on a new level. Let’s answer the call to utilize our God-given gifts and make an impact on the world around us.

God’s power makes the difference not only for us, but the people we are called to minister to!

Prayer:

Lord, we thank you for inviting every one of us to have a personal relationship with You. We want to experience Your presence like never before! Help us to be bold in our faith and step out with the power and guidance of your Holy Spirit. Give us eyes to see those around us, and how we can serve and love them!
